ABUJA — The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has met with the leadership of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, MOFI, to explore a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to fashion and design skills development across Nigeria.
The Minister disclosed this in a post on her official X handle on Monday.
She said she met with NELFUND Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, and MOFI Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang.
According to her, discussions focused on how NELFUND’s student financing platform can support aspiring creatives enrolled in world-class Fashion and Design Training Centres, to ensure that talent is not limited by financial barriers.
She said the goal is to combine quality training, accessible financing, entrepreneurship support, and pathways to employment in order to lay the foundation for a stronger pipeline of creative talent in the country.
“Empowering young Nigerians with the skills and opportunities to succeed remains central to our vision for the creative economy, and I look forward to seeing this collaboration translate into meaningful impact for the next generation of creatives,” she said.
