President Bola Tinubu has approved a high-powered Federal Government delegation to the maiden Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference (NDIEC) in Toronto, Canada.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abdur-Rahman Balogun.
According to the statement, the delegation will be led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Members of the delegation include Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum; Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo; Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang; and Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal.
Others are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Also on the team are representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
The conference, themed “Invest Nigeria, Thrive Abroad,” is scheduled to hold from August 12 to 15, 2026, in Toronto.
The Canadian delegation will feature the President of the Treasury Board of Canada, Hon. Shafqat Ali; Ontario’s Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, Hon. Graham McGregor; Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown; and other senior officials.
NiDCOM said the conference aims to connect global investors with investment-ready opportunities in high-impact sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic growth. It is being organized in collaboration with the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa and the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.
