Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted six persons during a late-night raid on Unguwan Dutse in Wasagu, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

‎‎Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, said in a post on X on Friday that the incident occurred on June 5 at about 12:40 a.m. when the assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community from a nearby forest believed to extend into Zamfara State.

According to Makama, the attackers abducted six residents, including Lawali Kabir, 34; Ubaida Jabir, 3; Fatima Jabir, 27; Mardiyya Fahad, 28; and her two children.

‎A distress alert was raised at about 3:40 a.m., prompting a joint team of police tactical units, soldiers, and local vigilantes to mobilise to the scene.

‎However, the gunmen had already fled with their victims before security operatives arrived.

‎Security sources said coordinated search and rescue operations are ongoing across surrounding forests and escape routes to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies.
