A pan Ukwa-Ngwa socio-political organization, Ukwa-Ngwa Yes We Can, has berated Hon. Darlington Nwokocha over his recent viral video attacking former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
The group in an Open Letter of Reprimand and Counsel dated November 4, 2026, and made available to newsmen, expressed disappointment that Nwokocha could publicly insult Ikpeazu who is not only a fellow son of Ngwa land but also the immediate past Governor of Abia State and the first Governor of Ukwa la Ngwa extraction.
The letter which was signed by the 10 LGA Coordinators of the group across Ukwa-Ngwa bloc including Hon. Chintua Nwagba (Aba North), Arthur Richard Ugbaja (Aba South), Chief Bethel Ikpeamaeze (Osisioma Ngwa), Engr. Okey Onyeobia (Ugwunagbo), Nwoko Gabriellee Chinonso (Ukwa East), Engr. Prince N. Obia (Obingwa), Ikaa Chinonye (Isiala Ngwa South), Ekweme Kenneth (Isiala Ngwa North), John Adiele (Ukwa West) and Hon. Uloma Nwogu (Woman Coordinator), said political disagreements are inevitable but public insults largely undermine collective dignity.
According to the group, Ukwa-Ngwa’s greatest political asset is its unity, noting that as a former legislator, Nwokocha should understand that pulling down fellow Ngwa leaders does not elevate him but only weakens the collective political capital of the people.
The group said Nwokocha should learn from respected figures such as Dr. Jaja Wachuku, Chief George Wigwe, Elder Emmanuel Adaelu and a host of others whose legacies remind of the value of restraint, strategic thinking and magnanimity.
The group therefore urged Nwokocha to desist from further personal attacks, clarify his position and tender an apology to Dr. Ikpeazu and the Ngwa people.
They also advised him to channel his political energy towards constructive criticism, issue-based engagement and a superior development agenda, insisting they are not defending any administration but defending Ngwa dignity.
”After politics, we remain brothers. No political ambition is worth sacrificing the unity and future of our people,” the group stated.
The group further reminded Nwokocha that Ikpeazu is his “Dede” (elder brother) and that it is a sacrilege in Ngwa land for him to have abused his elder brother, warning him to retrace his steps now to avoid karmic tendencies.
