Comrade Lucky Akabuike, a candidate for the position of President-General of the Ohuhu Welfare Union, has disowned the purported election scheduled for November 7, 2026, insisting that the exercise was suspended by an order of a competent court.
‎
‎In a public statement issued on Saturday, Akabuike maintained that no election was held on the said date, stressing that the electoral process had been legally restrained by the court.
‎
‎He explained that, as a law-abiding citizen who believes in the rule of law, judicial authority and due process, he could neither participate in nor recognise any electoral exercise conducted in defiance of a valid court order.
‎
‎Akabuike called on his supporters, well-wishers and the entire people of Ohuhu to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding while awaiting the appropriate legal processes.
‎
‎He also cautioned against actions capable of disrupting public peace, urging all parties involved to exercise restraint and respect the authority of the judiciary.
‎
‎The candidate further described as false and misleading any reports suggesting that he participated in the election purportedly conducted on November 7.
‎
‎He urged members of the Ohuhu community to disregard such publications, reiterating that he did not participate in the purported exercise.
‎
‎Akabuike reaffirmed his commitment to the unity, peace and progress of Ohuhu, calling on all stakeholders to prioritise the collective interest of the community and uphold the rule of law.
