UMUAHIA — Accountants in Abia State will on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, join their counterparts across the world to celebrate the 2026 International Accounting Day with a Health Walk, Technical Session and Press Conference.
The celebration, organised by the Ministry of Finance, is themed: *“Beyond Numbers: The Conscience Behind the Nation’s Confidence.”*
According to the Accountant General of Abia State, Njum Uma-Onyemenam, FCA, the event will be chaired by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Finance, and will bring together accountants, finance professionals and stakeholders to celebrate excellence, professionalism and the impact of the accounting profession.
The programme will commence with a Health Walk at 7:00 a.m., with take-off from the Ministry of Finance at 8:00 a.m.
The walk will terminate at the Britarch Event Centre, beside the House of Assembly, venue of the main celebration.
The Technical Session and Celebration will hold at 2:00 p.m. at the same venue.
Uma-Onyemenam said this year’s celebration promises to be exciting, engaging and memorable, featuring a Health Walk, Technical Session and Celebration.
She disclosed that T-Shirts for the Walk will be shared at the take-off point.
She invited accountants and members of the public to join the celebration and honour the profession that safeguards public trust and national confidence.
