A concerned Ngwa group, known as Anyi Bu Nnaa, has petitioned Oha Ngwa Dibia over the alleged insult directed at the former Governor of Abia State and current Ambassador to Spain, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, by Hon. Darlington Nwokocha.
‎
‎The group submitted the petition to Oha Ngwa Dibia on Friday when its Chairman, Kelechi Njoku, and Secretary, Emmanuel Nwabilor, met with the Chairman of Oha Ngwa Dibia, Chief Chinatu Oduluso, in Osusu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA of Abia State.
‎
‎In the petition, the group frowned at what it described as the growing tendency of younger people to insult elders with reckless abandon.
‎
‎It said such conduct has never been the culture nor attitude of the Ngwa nation, emphasising that it is alien to the people.
‎
‎The group said Ngwa forefathers upheld respect for elders as a sacred value and urged the present generation to preserve that heritage.
‎
‎In its petition, Anyi Bu Nnaa demanded that Hon. Nwokocha tender an apology to his elder brother in the spirit of peace, unity and reconciliation.
‎
‎The group said an apology would help to douse tension, restore mutual respect and reaffirm the values that bind the Ngwa nation together.
‎
‎It further appealed to all parties to embrace dialogue and avoid actions capable of deepening division among brothers.
‎
‎The group expressed confidence that Oha Ngwa Dibia, under the leadership of Chief Oduluso, has the capacity to mediate in the matter and ensure that such conduct does not repeat itself.
