SOKOTO — Bandits last night stormed Barayar Zaki village in Kwargaba Ward, Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing two people and leaving four others injured.
According to security expert Bakatsine who posted on X, the attackers also kidnapped several residents and made away with a large number of livestock before fleeing. The exact number of those abducted is yet to be confirmed.
Families have once again been left grieving, while many others are still searching for their loved ones.
“How many more innocent lives must be shattered before these attacks are brought to an end?” Bakatsine asked.
Escalating Insecurity in Sokoto
The attack is the latest in a series of bandit incursions in Wurno LGA and other parts of Sokoto State, where rural communities continue to bear the brunt of armed violence, kidnapping, and cattle rustling.
As of press time, security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
