JOS — Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has convened the State Security Council at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, to review security challenges and strengthen measures to protect lives and property.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor, service chiefs, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, and other senior government officials.
Governor Mutfwang described the recent incident in Mangu as painful and unacceptable, noting that despite the deployment of personnel, the attack exposed gaps that must be addressed.
Mutfwang said security agencies have made arrests and that investigations are ongoing with support from national authorities.
He directed security agencies to adopt intelligence-led and preventive operations rather than wait to respond after attacks.
He also urged citizens to provide timely information to security agencies, stressing that security is a shared responsibility.
The Governor noted that with the ember months and the 2027 elections approaching, government will not allow criminal elements to disrupt the peace of the state.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that farmers can work safely, businesses can thrive, and investors see Plateau as a secure destination.
