Security analyst Bakatsine has reported on X that on Tuesday night, bandits stormed Dan Zango, also known as Dan Mangoro, in Kidandan Ward, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and abducted five residents.
According to the post, the armed bandits had previously attempted to enter the community but were resisted by residents.
Following the attack, all women and children in the community reportedly fled to Fatika community for safety.
The abducted persons were identified as:
Asiya Abdullahi, Lamira Yusuf, Salima Abdullahi, Shehu Dalhatu and Saifullahi Ahmad.
Bakatsine prayed for their safe return and an end to the cycle of attacks and displacement, asking:”How long will rural communities continue to abandon their homes simply because they cannot feel safe there?”
