Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has submitted that speaking truth to power under the current All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of President Bola Tinubu has become difficult.
The Oyo helmsman stated this during a function in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday.
He compared the present administration to the immediate-past administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the former favoured a more consultative approach.
Faulting the incumbent administration’s handling of the tax reform bills, he said it is difficult to speak truth to power under the current dispensation.
The event attracted dignitaries from various walks of life, including former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Recognising the role ex-VP Osinbajo played in his life, Makinde appreciated him for influencing his leadership style, saying it made him decide against a full lockdown of Oyo State during the COVID-19 pandemic era.
