Troops, CJTF Arrest Suspected ISWAP/JAS Operative In Damasak, Recover Vehicle

DAMASAK — Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, have arrested a suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorist operative during an operation in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

‎According to a report by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X handle, the suspect was apprehended at about 9:50 a.m. on July 24 at the Damasak Onion Market by troops of 5 Brigade acting on intelligence.

‎During a search, troops recovered one vehicle and the sum of ₦35,300 from the suspect.

‎Military sources said the suspect and the recovered items have been taken into custody for further investigation to establish his role and possible links to ISWAP/JAS terrorist networks operating in the Lake Chad region.

‎The sources added that the arrest is part of sustained intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics, identifying collaborators and dismantling insurgent support networks across the North-East.
