…announces 26 New Appointments Into 10 FG Agencies
ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 persons into 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with immediate effect.
A major highlight of the appointments is the naming of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency, REA.
The incumbent Director-General of the Agency, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, retains his position.
Also appointed as Non-Executive Directors are Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta. Three Executive Directors previously appointed to the board were also retained.
At the National Salary and Wages Commission, President Tinubu appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman, while Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, a former member of the House of Representatives from Lagos, will serve as Secretary.
Commissioners appointed are Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun from Oyo State, and Yakubu Umar Barde from Kaduna State. Other members include Dr. Mai Adamu Yau from Borno, Ginika Florence Tor from Enugu, Engineer Lawrence Okoh from Edo, and Bello Morenike Iyabode from Kogi.
Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who was Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, has been redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.
The President also appointed Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission. At the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, NBET, Dr. Akinola Odeyemi was named Managing Director, while Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin will serve as Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
In Kwara State, Engineer Julius Oloro, a former council chairman, was appointed Chief Executive of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation, NCAM. He replaces the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.
For the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu was appointed Chairman. Members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was named Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. He replaces Prof. Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu.
At the Federal Housing Authority, Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and current Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, was appointed Executive Director, Finance.
