‎The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has demanded the immediate sack of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over allegations of corruption involving a fictitious agency and the sale of appointments.

‎In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the NDC cited allegations by one Prince Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be Director-General of the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC.

‎The party alleged that the non-existent agency was used to siphon public funds with the “active collusion and facilitation” of Gbajabiamila.

‎According to Adeyemi, the PFIPC received budgetary allocations in the 2026 budget and opened a Domiciliary Account, a Pound Sterling Account, and a Treasury Single Account, TSA, at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, despite the Presidency’s public disclaimer of the agency.

‎“How then was a fictitious agency able to open such accounts without the necessary documentation? Did the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation knowingly process forged documents?” the NDC asked.

‎The party also queried how the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation approved 314 staff positions for the agency without the knowledge of the Presidency and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

‎The NDC further alleged that Gbajabiamila demanded 48% of the agency’s takeoff grant, amounting to ₦827,395,510,136. It said Adeyemi claimed he secured his appointment through the Chief of Staff for ₦600 million, with ₦400 million allegedly paid through proxies and ₦200 million outstanding.

‎‎“This scandal raises fundamental questions about the level of transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the Tinubu administration,” the party said.

‎The statement also referenced the death of Mr Babatunde Tanimola, described as an intermediary between Adeyemi and Gbajabiamila, who reportedly died in a fire accident at a hotel in Utako, Abuja, on October 22, 2025.

Adeyemi also alleged multiple assassination attempts on his life.

‎NDC’s Demands:

1.  Immediate removal of the Chief of Staff to allow an unbiased investigation.

2.  Independent panel to probe PFIPC’s operations, budget, accounts, staff approvals, and transactions.

3.  Investigation into Tanimola’s death and attacks on Adeyemi, who should be placed under witness protection.

‎4.  Forensic analysis of all documents signed by the Chief of Staff since assuming office.

‎‎5. Questioning of officials of the CBN, Accountant-General’s Office, and Head of Civil Service.

‎6.  Full-scale probe by the EFCC, ICPC, and Nigeria Police Force.

‎“The NDC will not accept the usual tactic of issuing a mere defensive press release,” the party said, adding that anyone found culpable “must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
