The Federal Government will launch the African Global Festival Nigeria, Aglofest, in October 2026, following presidential approval for the international cultural and economic initiative.
The festival is being executed under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement designed to strengthen Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy and deepen engagement with Africa and the global Black diaspora.
According to a statement, Aglofest will bring together government institutions, private sector partners and international participants to focus on cultural exchange, trade, investment and business partnerships.
The statement said the festival will showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritage, tourism potential and creative industries, while creating opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs and businesses.
Key features of the event include the Black Diaspora Economic Forum, which will focus on trade and investment; a cultural presentation celebrating African heritage and creativity; and the Renewed Global Hope and Peace Concert, aimed at promoting peace and unity through music and entertainment.
It added that preparations are underway, with engagements ongoing involving government agencies, private sector partners, international participants and cultural organisations.
The October launch, the statement noted, will provide a platform for deeper diaspora engagement and create new opportunities across tourism, creative industries, trade and investment.
