Nigeria is set to host a high-level delegation from The Gambia’s Civil Service on a 5-day study visit focused on public service reform and service delivery.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF, will receive the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service of the Republic of The Gambia, Alieu Njie, and his team from June 20 to 24, 2026.
A statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations, OHCSF, Eno Olotu, said the visit aims to strengthen cooperation between both countries through peer learning and exchange of reform experiences.
According to the statement, discussions will cover public service reform implementation, service delivery improvement, institutional capacity building, performance management, digital governance, and technology for more effective government operations.
The Gambian delegation will meet with the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, and engage with selected Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, and relevant public service institutions.
Olotu said the study visit reflects the shared commitment of Nigeria and The Gambia to strengthening public administration through cooperation and practical learning.
It also underscores the importance of African countries learning from one another’s reform experiences to improve governance and serve citizens better.
