The attention of the Ikeoha Media Team has been drawn to a needless comparison and hate campaign sponsored by Hon. Ginger Onwusibe against our principal, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Chief Uzoma Ihuka.

‎The campaign is yet another deliberate attempt to misinform the good people of Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency.

‎We wish to state categorically that Chief Uzoma Ihuka was only a Board Member in ASOPADEC with a monthly salary of N137,000. As such, he had no executive powers nor any direct budget to execute projects like someone in the House of Representatives who controls billions in constituency allowances.

‎For the avoidance of doubt, the ASOPADEC Board has a fixed tenure of four years. It is therefore not right, morally or logically, for a man who has spent over 20 years in governance to compare two decades of access to power with Chief Ihuka’s four-year interventionist appointment that had no direct budget nor real executive powers.

‎Notwithstanding the lack of budget, Chief Ihuka executed verifiable projects that are still standing today across Isiala Ngwa.

‎It is on record that as a Board Member, he graded many rural roads across Isiala Ngwa, including the Ichi-Ukwu road which had been abandoned for years — a fact Chidiebere Young and other community leaders can attest to.

‎He built Ahia Eke Umuchima market from scratch for traders in the community.

‎He attracted and completely renovated a school block at Umunevo Primary School, Isiala Ngwa South with verifiable evidence.

‎Chief Ihuka at the time, embarked on installation of brand new 500KVA transformer and low tension reticulation in Egbelubi village, Uratta Umuoha and restored electricity to the community, just as he installed boreholes in Nkworji Uratta.

‎He sponsored 10 sons and daughters of Isiala Ngwa to Innoson Kiara Academy, Enugu, for six months specialised training in automobile engineering, covering tuition, accommodation and feeding in full. That is lifetime empowerment.

‎It is also on record that Hon. Ginger’s Keke and motorcycle empowerment is covered in a federal budget and not from his personal money.

‎Chief Uzoma Ihuka has been giving motorcycles, grinders, salon equipment and bursaries to over 100 Ngwa students from his personal funds for over 20 years, long before ASOPADEC.

‎In the light of the above, it is pitiable for a federal representative who earns close to a billion naira in constituency funds to be making comparison with someone who was appointed to a Board with N137.000 monthly salary.

‎Isiala Ngwa North/South deserves quality representation that attracts real federal presence and sustainable empowerment, not Keke economics and blackmail.

‎The records are there. The projects are verifiable. The people are watching.
