JOS — Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring the state’s legacy assets to position Plateau for global sports, tourism and investment.

‎The Governor stated this during an inspection tour of the ongoing remodelling of the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Plateau Hotel, and the iconic Hill Station Hotel in Jos.

‎At the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Governor Mutfwang commended the contractors for the quality of work done so far but directed that the pace be accelerated to ensure completion ahead of the forthcoming football season.

‎”Our vision is to deliver a world-class sporting facility that meets international standards, promotes grassroots sports development, nurtures young talents, and positions Plateau State to host both national and international sporting events,” he said.

‎He directed contractors to deploy more personnel, especially on the pitch, and take advantage of the August break to minimise weather-related delays.

‎”By the grace of God, before the football season begins in earnest, the pitch should be ready so that work can concentrate on the remaining components of the project,” the Governor added.

‎Governor Mutfwang also inspected the remodelling of Plateau Hotel and Hill Station Hotel, expressing satisfaction with the progress despite initial challenges.

‎He commended investors and development partners, noting that the projects demonstrate how well-structured Public-Private Partnerships can deliver critical infrastructure.

‎”One of the promises we made upon assuming office was to recover and restore Plateau State’s legacy assets. The Hill Station Hotel holds a special place in the history of our state and our nation. For nearly eight years, this iconic facility remained closed, but today, it is being brought back to life,” he said.

‎The Governor disclosed that partners have assured that the first phase of both Hill Station Hotel and Plateau Hotel will be delivered by October 1, 2026.

‎He said the milestone will reposition Plateau as Nigeria’s premier destination for tourism, conferences, business, and leisure, adding that the investments will create jobs, attract investors, and boost confidence in the state.

‎”The visible transformation already taking place has generated excitement among our people. Many citizens have reached out after seeing the new perimeter fencing and ongoing construction, expressing renewed hope that these historic landmarks will soon regain their former glory,” Mutfwang said.

‎He said the progress sends a clear message to investors: “Plateau State is open for business,” and reaffirmed commitment to building a resilient economy anchored on strategic partnerships and improved ease of doing business.

‎The Governor also stressed that while investing in infrastructure, his administration remains committed to addressing security challenges through collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders.
