The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, says it has deployed 1,100 personnel across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the 2025 Christmas and New Year festivities.
‎‎The Commandant of NSCDC Bauchi, Oloyede Oyerinde, disclosed this in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusuf, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
‎According to him, security arrangement involves both covert and overt operations, including joint patrols of identified flashpoints and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
‎He added that security personnel would be stationed at worship centres, parks, eateries, banks, hotels and other public places across the state to forestall criminal activities during the festive period.
‎‎The Commandant directed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and other personnel to remain diligent, focused, and professional, while intensifying patrols and maintaining control over public spaces before, during, and after the celebrations.
‎Oyerinde advised residents to refrain from actions that could breach public peace and enjoined them to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest NSCDC office for a swift response.
‎‎The Commandant also reassured residents of adequate security arrangements, emphasising that the Corps is working in collaboration with other security agencies to maintain law and order throughout the festive period.
‎He also extended Christmas and New Year greetings to officers, men of the Corps and residents of the state, reaffirming the NSCDC Bauchi State Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and sustaining public confidence across the state.
