…pledges inclusive government
The 2027 Abia APC governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, on Wednesday took his appreciation tour to Umunneochi Local Government Area, where he was received by the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
In a statement by his Director, Media and Publicity Eric Ikwuagwu, the visit was part of Opah’s tour of the 17 LGAs to thank party members and stakeholders for their support during the APC governorship primary, and to drum up unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Welcoming him, Hon. Onyejeocha, who is also the APC candidate for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency, praised party members for their commitment. She urged them to remain united and focused on the goal of returning President Bola Tinubu and delivering victory for all APC candidates.
In his remarks, Chief Opah expressed gratitude to Umunneochi APC members for standing with him during the primary.
”I have come to sincerely thank you for standing with us during the governorship primary election. Your confidence in our aspiration is deeply appreciated, and I remain committed to building an inclusive government that will serve the interests of all Abians,” he said.
Opah called for reconciliation among members, regardless of who they supported in the primary, and stressed that the tour was not a campaign. He noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had yet to lift the embargo on electioneering.
Party leaders and stakeholders at the meeting pledged unalloyed support for President Tinubu’s re-election, Opah’s candidacy, and other APC candidates. They expressed optimism that unity would position the party for victory in 2027.
The appreciation tour is expected to continue across other LGAs as Opah meets with party faithful who backed him during the primary.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr. Godswill Agu Egbe; Director General of the Eric Opah Campaign, Chief Charles Ogbonna; Elder John Nwamkporogwu; and other stakeholders.
The meeting ended with leaders reaffirming their commitment to the APC.
