An explosion in Banki, a town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, has reportedly killed at least four people.
‎‎It was reported that the incident occurred on Friday.
‎The victims, all scavengers, brought the explosive device into the town after mistaking it for metal scrap.
‎‎It was reported that the device exploded while they were trying to unbundle it.
‎‎Meanwhile, authorities are yet to speak about the incident just as Nanum Keneath, police spokesperson in Borno is yet to confirm the development.
Recall that Borno State has been grappling with the Boko Haram insurgency for over 10 years.
‎People have been killed and millions displaced, by the insurgency, in the state and neighbouring states.
