Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has called for a review of curricula in polytechnics and universities of technology to align with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence.

‎Uzodimma made the call while receiving a delegation of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, led by Comrade Chibuzor Asomugha, after the union’s workshop in Imo State.

‎He urged polytechnics to prioritise research in AI and emerging technologies, noting that obsolete curricula have widened Nigeria’s technological gap with industry needs.

‎The governor also condemned discrimination against polytechnic certificates, saying the institutions were established to provide technical and practical training critical to national development.

‎“By embracing innovation and aligning with global trends, these institutions will give the country a competitive advantage in the knowledge-driven economy,” he said.
