Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Kebbi State have neutralised Lakurawa terrorists and recovered a large cache of weapons and IEDs during a sustained offensive in the North-West.

‎Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 8 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, said the operation took place on June 14, 2026 around Dogon Daji area of Dandi Local Government Area.
‎
‎According to the statement, troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to flee their hideout. An aggressive pursuit along their withdrawal routes led to the recovery of abandoned arms and logistics.
‎
‎Items recovered include RPG launch tubes, RPG warheads, multiple IEDs, two motorcycles, battery chargers, and other personal belongings. No soldier was injured during the operation.
‎
‎The Army said the success underscores the commitment of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, to dismantling terrorist and bandit networks across the region.
‎
‎The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its resolve to sustain offensive operations, deny criminals freedom of action, and ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens.
