The Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, says top ISWAP leaders have surrendered to troops amid intensified operations in the North-East theatre.
According to the Army, the leaders abandoned their enclaves due to “relentless military pressure” and are currently undergoing profiling and debriefing in a secure location.
The command said the development reflects the impact of its ongoing offensive against Boko Haram and ISWAP, which has dismantled strongholds, disrupted logistics, and degraded insurgent capabilities.
Within the last week alone, 76 terrorist foot soldiers and their families also surrendered to troops.
“The pressure on the remaining terrorist elements will continue unabated until they are completely neutralised or forced to surrender,” OPHK stated.
