ABUJA — Mr. Peter Obi, has described the just concluded FIFA World Cup final as a reminder that youth leadership delivers excellence when given opportunity.
In a post on X on Sunday night, Obi congratulated the winners of the tournament, calling it “a gallant finish” and “yet another fitting birthday gift.”
“The FIFA World Cup concluded successfully on Sunday night, with the best team emerging victorious,” he wrote.
“This is yet another fitting birthday gift, further demonstrating that the youth have not only arrived but are proving that excellence, when given the opportunity, will always prevail.”
Obi noted that “competence, capacity, character, and capability were on full display” during the tournament.
“It is a powerful reminder that when young people are properly nurtured, entrusted with responsibility, and given the opportunity to lead, they deliver outstanding results,” he stated.
He added that the same spirit must be replicated in Nigeria.
“This is the spirit we must replicate across every sector of our national life. A New Nigeria is Possible, and it must be reflected in every endeavour that brings pride, progress, and honour to our nation.”
The post came hours after the World Cup final and same day he celebrated his 65th birthday.
