Troops Reportedly Kill Several Bandits, Recover Cattle, Arms In Gwarzo Ambush

Troops have killed several bandits and recovered weapons, motorcycles and rustled cattle during an ambush in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.

‎Security expert, Bakatsine, who disclosed this on X on Monday, said the bandits had earlier attacked Jaga and Nasarawa communities in Mai Nika Ward, where one person was killed, another injured, a motorcycle stolen and a large number of cattle rustled.

‎According to him, as the bandits were withdrawing from the Gwarzo axis, troops laid an ambush.

‎“Six bodies were left at the scene, while some others were arrested. Weapons, motorcycles and the rustled livestock were also recovered,” Bakatsine stated.

‎He added that no troop casualties were reported.

‎Bakatsine commended the troops for their swift response and also acknowledged citizens who amplified the initial alert.

‎“This is why timely reporting and rapid security response matter. Big commendation to the troops for the swift response, and to everyone who amplified the initial alert and helped draw attention to the situation,” he said.
