The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of over 3,800 police officers, including two Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs), ten Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and seventeen Commissioners of Police (CPs), following successful promotion examinations and oral interviews.

The approvals were granted at the Commission’s plenary meeting in Abuja, presided over by its Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (Rtd).

Among the beneficiaries are AIG Olaolu Adegbite, Head of INTERPOL National Central Bureau, Abuja, and AIG Dankombo Morris, Head of Zone 4 Headquarters, Makurdi, both elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police.

The exercise also covered officers across other senior ranks, including 3,218 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).

The PSC Chairman charged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, professionalism and dedication to duty, stressing that the promotions must translate into improved protection of lives and property, effective law enforcement and better service delivery to Nigerians.
