BAUCHI — Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dropped two commissioners from the State Executive Council and nominated replacements for screening by the State House of Assembly.
In a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor said the action was part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery ahead of the end of his administration.
The affected commissioners are Mohammed Salis Gamawa of the Ministry of Commerce, Industries and Investment, and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, who until his reassignment was Commissioner for Education and later moved to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology.
Both are to exit the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
The statement also said the Governor has accepted the resignation of the Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Hon. Faruk Mustapha.
” In line with the administration’s commitment to ensuring continuity and efficiency in governance, the names of their proposed replacements, alongside those of other nominees intended to fill vacancies created by the earlier exit of some commissioners, have been forwarded to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation,” Gidado stated.
Governor Mohammed appreciated the outgoing commissioners for their dedicated service and contributions to the development of Bauchi State.
He wished them success in their future endeavours and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to build a more responsive and results-oriented government for the people of the state.
The Governor’s tenure is expected to end in less than a year.
