Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, on Thursday received the Executive Management of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc at his office in Umuahia.
The delegation was led by the Group Chief Executive, Mr. Chuma Nwokeocha.
In a post via his official X handle, the Governor said discussions centred on strategic areas of collaboration including infrastructure financing, SME banking, housing finance, agro-industrial development, capital market solutions and Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, enhancement.
He described the partnerships as critical to his administration’s vision of building a stronger and more prosperous Abia.
The Governor highlighted two key priority projects: the Abia Medical City and the proposed Obeaku Sea Port, noting that both present significant opportunities for impactful public-private partnerships.
According to him, both parties agreed to deepen engagements through follow-up technical discussions to identify practical areas of collaboration.
Otti commended Stanbic IBTC for presenting concrete partnership proposals and for its Corporate Social Responsibility intervention in rehabilitating a school in the state.
He encouraged more private sector institutions to partner with the government to advance sustainable development in Abia.
The Group Chief Executive had earlier commended the administration for its commitment to good governance and for creating an enabling environment for investment.
