Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued eight kidnapped victims after foiling a terrorist attack in Ungwan Rogo community, Kaura Namoda LGA of Zamfara State.
X user and security expert, Bakatsine, who reported the incident, said the rescue happened on Monday evening following credible intelligence.
According to the report, the troops swiftly engaged the terrorists, forcing them to flee and abandon their captives.
Two vehicles were also recovered during the operation.
Bakatsine described it as a display of “bravery, professionalism and unwavering commitment to protecting innocent lives,” and saluted the gallant troops for their swift response.
The military said operations are ongoing to keep the area secure and prevent further attacks.
