Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu on Monday directed security agencies to work with state governors to prevent future kidnappings of Nigerians.
The President said that students and children should no longer be allowed to fall victim to terrorism.
Tinubu gave the fresh directive while commending security agencies for securing the release of 100 students from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State.
Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesperson who revealed this in a statement, added that President Tinubu urged security agents to expedite the release of the remaining 115 students and teachers still held hostage.
Tinubu also assured parents that the federal and Niger State governments are collaborating to reunite all abducted students with their families.
He also emphasised the need for security forces to rescue all abducted Nigerians and ensure the safety of schools.
