The Federal Government has inaugurated a committee to monitor the implementation of basic education programmes nationwide, with a focus on underserved communities.

‎The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, inaugurated the panel on Tuesday.

‎It is to oversee the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Smart Schools, Alternative Schools, and Bilingual Schools programmes.

‎According to the ministry, the committee will track progress, identify implementation gaps, and recommend solutions to improve learning outcomes.

‎It is also expected to work with UBEC, state governments, and other stakeholders to assess project implementation, monitor compliance, and submit periodic reports.

‎The government said the move is aimed at improving access to basic, quality, and technology-driven education for Nigerian children.
