The Federal Government has inaugurated a committee to monitor the implementation of basic education programmes nationwide, with a focus on underserved communities.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, inaugurated the panel on Tuesday.
It is to oversee the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Smart Schools, Alternative Schools, and Bilingual Schools programmes.
According to the ministry, the committee will track progress, identify implementation gaps, and recommend solutions to improve learning outcomes.
It is also expected to work with UBEC, state governments, and other stakeholders to assess project implementation, monitor compliance, and submit periodic reports.
