Troops of the 8 Division Garrison, Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have foiled a planned terrorist attack in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
‎The troops, acting on actionable intelligence, ambushed insurgents at Kwanar Jollof in Jangeru village, Shinkafi LGA, on Tuesday night.
‎A military source said the terrorists fled under heavy fire, abandoning a PKT machine gun, ammunition, two motorcycles, chains believed to be for captives and eight sets of military uniforms.
‎No casualties were reported among troops during the operation.
