Security forces under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested two suspected terrorists during a night patrol in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was carried out in the early hours of Monday, August 25, 2026.
Security expert, Bakatsine, who disclosed this on X, said the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, a locally made Dane gun, radios, tactical gear, a motorcycle, cash and other items.
“Intelligence materials found on one of the suspects’ phones are also being analysed,” Bakatsine stated.
He described the operation as “another solid operation by our troops” and commended the personnel for their courage and vigilance.
“Kudos to the men on the ground for their courage, vigilance and relentless efforts to keep our communities safe,” he said.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to degrade terrorist activities and restore peace in Zamfara and the wider North West region.
