UMUAHIA — Operatives of the Abia State Police Command have arrested four suspected drug peddlers and recovered quantities of suspected hard drugs and freshly harvested cannabis in Osisioma Local Government Area.
The arrest was made on July 16, 2026, by personnel of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit, following credible intelligence on the cultivation and sale of illicit drugs in the area.
Parading the suspects on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, identified them as: David Chika Nwakamma, male of Amapuife, Osisioma LGA, Abia State, Stanley Moses a.k.a “Rati Boy”, male, of Njaba LGA, Imo State, Ibe Chisom, male of Mbaise LGA, Imo State and Austin Godswill, male of Mbaise LGA, Imo State
According to the Command, all the suspects are residents of Osisioma, Abia State.
The statement added that exhibits recovered include: quantities of substances suspected to be hard drugs packaged for distribution and suspected freshly harvested/planted cannabis.
“The Abia State Police Command reiterates its commitment to ensuring that there is no hiding place for criminals in the State,” DSP Chinaka said.
