Police in Yobe have arrested nine suspects over armed robbery incidents in Fika and Damaturu local government areas.
Spokesperson of the command, Dungus Abdulkarim, said the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
On May 29, 2026, at about 3:00 a.m., the Divisional Police Headquarters in Fika received a distress call that youths had invaded Ngalda Market, engaging in intimidation, public disturbance and robbery. Patrol teams mobilised and arrested seven suspects.
