The Nigerian Army has arrested 18 individuals linked to supplying logistics to Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.
The suspects were intercepted moving through Gubio towards Gudumbali, allegedly to deliver supplies to terrorists.
Preliminary findings show the suspects were driven by economic challenges, highlighting how criminal groups exploit vulnerable individuals.
The Army while posting on its verified X handle on Wednesday, warned citizens against collaborating with terrorists, saying providing logistics or assistance is a serious offence with grave consequences for national security.
It said the fight against terrorism requires collective commitment, with community support crucial to ongoing operations.
The Army encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities and resist aiding criminals. Socio-economic support and community-focused initiatives can strengthen resilience and reduce vulnerabilities.
It also reaffirmed its mandate to safeguard communities and protect citizens, saying lasting peace requires a unified approach combining security operations, development efforts, and community partnerships.
