Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, working with civilian hunters and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, have arrested a suspected ISWAP informant, Abdullahi Umar, 25, in Gombi, Adamawa State.
According to security expert Zaragoza Makama, Umar, a native of Gwoza, was caught on March 23 following intel on ISWAP presence in the area.
He is accused of conducting reconnaissance on routes leading to the 232 Battalion area and military structures, aiming to identify entry points for future attacks.
According to Makama, Umar also confessed to involvement in the recent Ngoshe troop attack and is now in military custody for further investigation.
