President Bola Tinubu has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for the operation that led to the elimination of notorious bandit kingpin, Ibrahim Bastuji, in Kogi State.

‎In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the operation as a major setback for criminal networks terrorizing Kogi and neighbouring states.

‎President Tinubu noted that Bastuji’s activities – kidnapping, violence and attacks on civilians – caused untold hardship for residents. He expressed confidence that the operation would restore public confidence and bring relief to affected communities.

‎The President congratulated the troops on what he called a decisive milestone in the fight against insecurity, reiterating that no part of Nigeria’s territory would be surrendered to criminals.

‎President Tinubu also praised security personnel for the successful rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, widow of the late former Chief of Defence Information, Major General Rabe Abubakar (Rtd).

‎He said the rescue reflected the professionalism, courage and determination of security agencies in confronting criminal elements across the country.

‎The President described Hajiya Amina’s safe return as relief to her family and all Nigerians, while commending the intelligence coordination and bravery of the officers involved.

‎President Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration will continue to provide the Armed Forces with the resources, training and support required to tackle banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes.

‎He urged citizens to support security agencies with timely and useful information to strengthen efforts to safeguard lives and property.
