Three people were killed while working on their farms in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Sunday, local sources said.
A security analyst, Bakatsine, reported on his official X handle that two of the victims were residents of Zurmi town while the third was from a nearby village.
According to the post, bandits also stormed Baichen Dauran community in the LGA on Saturday night and killed one person.
The same night, travellers were allegedly abducted along the road near Baichen Dauran, including a commercial driver from Zurmi identified as Kabiru Takaye.
Residents said tension remains high across Zurmi and its surrounding communities as attacks by armed groups continue.

Zurmi LGA has been a hotspot for banditry in Zamfara. In March 2024, gunmen killed over 20 people in a series of attacks on villages including Karakkai and Babbangiji in the LGA. In January 2025, bandits abducted dozens of farmers and travellers along the Zurmi–Jibiya road.
The state government and security agencies have repeatedly deployed troops to the axis, but residents say attacks on farms and highways persist, especially during the planting and harvest seasons.
As of the time of filing this report, Zamfara State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the latest killings and abductions.
