…rescue Abducted Driver, Recover Arms
Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Ogun State Police Command have neutralised two suspected kidnappers and secured the safe release of an abducted truck driver during a tactical operation.
The victim was abducted on August 25, 2026 at about 11:10 p.m. at Ajibawo area of Ibese, Ogun State. Following actionable intelligence, operatives stormed the kidnappers’ hideout along the Papalanto–Ilaro Road.
Two suspects were neutralised during the operation while others fled with gunshot injuries.
Items recovered at the hideout include two AK-47 rifles, 25 rounds of ammunition, two cell phones and a cash sum of ₦2,000,000 suspected to be proceeds of crime.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives for their gallantry and professionalism. He said the Command remains committed to intelligence-led operations to rid the state of criminality.
The CP urged residents to provide timely information, especially on persons seeking treatment for gunshot wounds, to aid ongoing efforts.
