The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Sir Uzoma Ihuka, has promised a data-driven approach to youth empowerment and constituency development if elected.

‎Ihuka, who served as President of the Ngwa Patriots Forum, said it is imperative to rely on a comprehensive needs assessment of communities in Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency.

‎He emphasised that records from the previous exercise are still available and can guide him in planning the best way to reach people in the constituency with different needs.

‎“You can’t empower somebody without asking the person. You can’t bump somebody’s head in his absence. If we’re giving you a motorcycle, it will be you requesting for a motorcycle. If it’s a trade, it will be you requesting to learn a trade. That’s what we’re going to do,” he said.

‎He referenced a similar E4E “Education for Employment” exercise and said the same model would be adopted.

‎According to him, the needs of youths in areas with daily markets in Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency would differ from those in communities without daily markets. He added that proper data collection is necessary before any intervention and empowerment.
