Governor Hope Uzodimma says Imo State has overcome its past security challenges, attributing the success to the effective deployment of intelligence.
The governor stated this on Sunday while receiving the Commandant of the Nigeria Defence Intelligence College, DIC, Commodore Usman M. Bugaje, and his team during an official engagement in Owerri.
“Our success in tackling the security challenges we once faced was largely driven by the effective deployment of intelligence. Today, to the glory of God, Imo State is secured once again, and we remain committed to sustaining these gains,” he said.
Uzodimma noted that Nigeria is intelligence-driven and stressed the need for a strategic understanding of evolving security realities to protect citizens.
He said the DIC has a key role to play in advancing that objective and complementing the security efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The governor commended the Commandant and his team and assured them of the state’s continued support and partnership.
The statement was posted on the governor’s official X handle.
