Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has restated his administration’s commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare, with a special focus on cancer prevention and treatment.
Speaking while receiving a delegation of the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) in Owerri, the governor said delivering healthcare at little or no cost and ensuring seamless access remains a critical objective of his government.
He noted that the partnership with stakeholders, including civil society groups, is central to achieving better health outcomes for Imo people.
“While addressing a delegation of the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC), led by my wife, Chief (Barr.) Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, I reaffirmed our resolve to confronting the scourge of cancer and highlighted the various initiatives and interventions we have implemented so far,” Uzodimma said.
The governor added that the state will deepen collaboration with groups like FLAC to improve cancer awareness, prevention, treatment, and support services.
He described FLAC’s advocacy as a strong complement to government’s efforts in tackling cancer in the state.
The post was shared on the governor’s official X handle on Sunday.
