ZAMFARA — Bandits have attacked travelers along the Bagega–Anka road in Zamfara State, killing two people and shooting the driver in the hand.
Security expert, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident in a post on X, describing it as “yet another reminder of the persistent insecurity facing communities in the region.”
According to the post, the attack occurred “moments ago” along the highway linking Bagega to Anka.
“How many more innocent lives must be lost before authorities take decisive action to secure Zamfara’s roads?” Bakatsine asked.
As of the time of filing this report, the Zamfara State Police Command and government authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
The Bagega–Anka road has witnessed several attacks in recent months, with travelers and commercial drivers repeatedly calling for increased security presence.
