Funeral prayers were held on Friday for 17 people killed by bandits in Goran Namaye community, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Posting on his verified X handle, security expert Bakatsine, said the victims died when gunmen attacked the farming community, marking the latest in a series of violent incidents that plagued Zamfara in recent months.
Previous mass burials in the state included 23 farmers killed in Gidan Jaja in March 2026 and 16 residents murdered in Bagega community in January 2026.
Residents gathered at the community mosque to observe Janazah prayers for the 17 deceased.
Islamic clerics led the prayers and urged Allah to grant the victims mercy and accept them as martyrs.
The tragedy underscored the ongoing security challenges facing communities across Zamfara and the North-West region.
