Ryan Alebiosu who impressed during Nigeria’s game against Uganda on Tuesday could be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The defender, representing Nigeria in a major tournament for the first time, sustained an injury in the Super Eagles’ 3-1 win over the Cranes of Uganda on Tuesday.
Newsbuka learnt that the Alebiosu who was in action for the entire duration of the match, suffered a deep cut on his right leg in the first half.
The right-back made his debut for the Super Eagles in the game played at the Complexe Sportif de Fès.
Newsbuka also learnt that forward Cyriel Dessers also has a thigh problem and could be ruled out for the rest of the competition. He is expected to undergo a scan on Wednesday (today).
