Abia State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, says the state government’s performance is “motion without movement”, alleging failure to translate resources into tangible development.
Speaking at the inauguration of 17 Local Government Area chairmen, Chukwu said the Otti administration hasn’t advanced the state beyond its starting point, despite federal funds.
”The scale of infrastructural development being publicized isn’t commensurate with funds accruing to Abia,” he said.
Accorring to him, effective governance should reflect in economic vibrancy, infrastructure, and improved livelihoods.
Chukwu criticised declining economic activity, saying a thriving economy requires policies encouraging nightlife, commerce, and investor confidence.
He charged the new chairmen to sustain party peace and unity, and intensify grassroots mobilisation.
”This is serious business. We’re here to win elections – to deliver President Tinubu and reclaim Government House, Umuahia,” he said.
Chukwu described the APC as the only vibrant and healthy political party in Abia State, boasting what he termed the widest grassroots appeal. “We do not believe in social media noise. We are rooted in the grassroots, and we must preserve that strength to secure victory in all forthcoming elections,” he stated, urging them to proceed with the inauguration of ward executives in their respective local government areas.
In his vote of thanks, the Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Hon. Onyeukwu Nwogu, expressed appreciation to party members for the confidence reposed in them.
He pledged that the newly elected executives would work diligently to consolidate party structures and deliver electoral victory for the APC in 2027.
