The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it will deploy 3,763 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, devices across all 3,763 polling units in Osun State, with an additional 664 as backups.

‎Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, disclosed this at a press briefing in Osogbo on Wednesday.

‎She said the BVAS would be used to accredit only voters with valid Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, and to upload polling unit results directly to the INEC Result Viewing Portal, IReV, to enhance transparency.

‎“All the BVAS devices are already charged and awaiting configuration, which will be carried out close to the election,” she said.

‎Babalola said INEC had carried out inclusive sensitization for women, youths, persons with disabilities, faith-based groups, religious groups, and community NGOs across local governments.

‎She added that the Commission would provide magnifying glasses, braille ballot guides, and priority voting access for persons with disabilities, the elderly, and nursing mothers.

‎On security, she said Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan assured stakeholders of comprehensive arrangements to prevent violence and ensure peace before, during, and after the election.

‎She also said the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of ICT and supervising the South West held a strategic stakeholders’ security meeting on June 26, 2026, where far-reaching resolutions were taken.

‎Babalola said Osun had 1,954,800 registered voters before the Continuous Voter Registration exercise. She added that over 80 percent of non-sensitive materials had been received and meetings held with transport unions to ensure timely delivery on election day.
