The Nigeria Police Force has dismantled a kidnapping syndicate linked to killings and abductions along the Federal Capital Territory–Nasarawa border.
In a statement by CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, Force Public Relations Officer, the suspects were arrested between June 24 and 26, 2026, during intelligence-led operations in Gbagalape, Mararaba, and Abuja.
The suspects, Buhari Adamu, 25, and Abubakar Saidu, 28, are linked to a May 16 attack on Gbagalape Community in which residents were abducted and killed, the statement said.
Operatives also recovered one AK-47 rifle, 22 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 14 cows, and three sheep from the gang’s hideout at Gbagalape Hills.
According to the PPRO, the suspects have made statements aiding investigations, while efforts are ongoing to arrest fleeing members.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended operatives of the Force Intelligence Department–Special Tactical Squad for the operation.
